Students hold Christmas market fair for HARP

Travel and Tourism students at South Essex College hosted a Christmas market display and a clothes collection to raise money for the HARP Southend homeless charity.

On Monday 9 December, second year level 3 students at the Southend campus, were tasked with creating their own charity fundraiser as part of their Conference and Event module, raising a fantastic £164 for HARP.

Students worked hard to create exciting stalls, and they contacted all departments to raise awareness as well as organised live Christmas music with the help of the music department.
Sarah Argent, lecturer for Travel and Tourism, said: “This was a great way to get students to put their conference and event unit into practise by running and organising a fundraising event.”

“We are so pleased with how well the students have done and all in all a positive event that raised money for a good cause.”
